Your entire birth chart is a journey of what you potentially could be if you manage and harness your astrological gifts.
I really strive to be practical and reality based in the way I practice Astrology. If the info that I’m giving you cannot be applied to your life constructively, it’s not worth the screen it’s being typed on in my opinion.
Although there are many vital factors in a birth chart which contribute to an individuals celestial biography, most Astrologers that I know would agree that the three most important parts of your chart, and the foundation on which it is built consists of what is known as your "Astrological Signature":your Sun(this is the sign most of us are familiar with), Moon and Rising(Ascendant)signs. Just looking at these three parts alone, you can extract extremely valuable insights and information regarding the person's general makeup and temperment.
I view the Sun as your destination in life. It's where you're traveling and why. Your purpose in life, or your highest mode of individual self-expression. It’s the “skin” that your soul, or the universe is calling you to grow into in this lifetime. Our suns are representative of what we’re seeking to become. Our inner essence. Your sun symbolizes how you like to "shine" in life. Just raidating and being yourself. Ideally, as we grow into our Sun signs, we can ultimately use the other inner planets in our chart to assist in serving the Sun's purpose.
Your Moon sign is symbolic of what you need to bring with you on your way to your destination. What truly “nourishes” us. It’s what makes us feel most comfortable and natural. Also, the Moon is our capacity to nurture and meet the needs of others as well as the way we desire to be cared for. It’s our instinctive reactions, our “emotional memory”. Our level of sensitivity. It’s also domesticity, roots, ancestry and national origin.
Your Ascendant, or Rising Sign is representative of the style of vehicle which transports you on your journey. It’s the “persona” or mask that we show to the world. It’s our most effective mode of transport for arriving safely and successfully at our destination. A great example of how the rising sign works was given by Astrologer Jodie Forrest when I attended her lecture at ISAR this past August: picture yourself just arriving at a party. You walk over to the couch, have a seat and make yourself comfortable. You're determined to observe everyone for about 15-20 minutes. The information that you collect and perceptions that you make from a distance are going to be indicitave of the rising signs of those individuals that you've observed. Once you actually interact with people in closer quarters, chances are that you will be receiving a little of their Sun as well.
So, once you know where you're going and why, what you need to bring with you and your style and mode of transport, you're on your way to your destination.
Let's go !
